What brought you to work or get interested in the Congress’ fields?

I was invited to the Congress, so I need no have brought to its fields.
When I was 16, I studied chapter 9 of Wolfgang Stegmüller’s Hauptströmungen der Gegenwartsphilosophie about Rudolf Carnap and the Vienna Circle. Ever since I wanted to do that kind of philosophy and I never changed my mind.

What is your opinion about your portrait?

I love it. M. Toussaint has taken a lot of pictures of mine. I assume he has taken the best one. I have decided that I like it very much - although with its darkness and its emphasized contrasts it looks quite foreign to me. It’s me, no doubt. But I am looking like a wild French existentialist deeply pondering about love and death and not like a decent analytic philosopher thinking about causality and probability and suchlike things. I am wondering why my head is not in the middle of the picture, but I guess that’s the artist’s intention.
